SUPERIOR CONTENT: The "Founding Events" and the "Essential Characters"

Yes, there is a replica "steampunk" locomotive in the throughline of the novels, and that's part of our "brand!"

Before the franchise can win loyal followers, establishing what our "brand" is will be critical, and that is where "Claude" comes in.

When you ask "Claude" (Anthropic's award-winning AI platform) to help you write a great fiction, your finished product is only as good as the complete set of prompts that you give it to start with.

ATTEND EVENTS: Collaborate With Others and Master Your Craft

The "Driftless Rivers AI Fiction Franchise" will only be successful if it stays ahead of the curve in generating riveting stories that are relevant to our respective audiences. That means creating entire teams in your genre where complex, cohesive stories emerge organically.

Writers are encouraged to work with Lester to host an "opening" event to kickstart the writing process in June. We will meet again in mid-August to help everyone finish their first drafts.

But collaboration will become even more important when each of us starts our second work of fiction. Will we write prequels, or sequels? Did a character emerge that deserves their own spin-off storyline?

Novel #1: Confluence

NOVEL #1: "Confluence"

To maximize the probability that your novel will be accepted for publication with minimal editing, you should probably read the founding events in context, and meet the essential characters in the actual events that shaped their lives. There are also dozens of other characters that you are welcome to "claim" and include them in your own writing.

This is "first come - first served," so if you "meet" characters from this opening novel that you come to love, then they will be yours to keep for your future writing.

Lester and Mickey are going to be central to most stories, which will keep me busy, so I need others to pick up and run with the following characters:

  • Diana and Kate (older lesbian couple, horse lovers, retired FBI)
  • Jules and Rio (wealthy gender queer couple in their 20s, influencial social media influencers, from New Orleans)
  • Jordan (home-schooled in a hyper-Christian home, comes out to Jules and Rio, they/them pronouns)
